The AIRBLAST® Thompson Valve II is the next generation of the Thompson valve designed to provide maximum abrasive measurement performance. It is a self-closing, abrasive metering valve with instantaneous response to either pneumatic or electric deadman clutch actuation. This valve shuts off the abrasive stream to the nozzle and shuts off the blast vessel outlet at the same instant. This allows the abrasive stream to be stopped remotely while maintaining a steady flow of air. This provides a quick and easy way to clean the blast hose and blast area of abrasive. The Thompson Valve II is ideal for multiple applications and easily adapts to most existing blasting systems. The lower overall profile allows more space between the valve and the blast vessel for easy access. Based on the original Thompson valve, the Thompson Valve II offers even higher performance levels, increased durability and longer life.

Advantages:

  • The spring is pre-tensioned with a spring retainer. This allows for easy spring replacement
  • Triple piston seals prevent media from entering the piston chamber and extend valve life
  • Locking cap allows easier access to the piston and piston seal
  • Short path through the mixing valve helps ensure a steady flow of abrasive media
  • Robust, anti-corrosion body
  • The ring on the liner prevents the media from being trapped, reducing friction
  • The larger seat allows for better flow of media into the air stream. Smaller seat angle prevents media from getting stuck under the piston, extending component life
  • The centre section is separated from the cylinder, making it easier to remove the liner, piston seal and seat during servicing
